Employee Assistance Program


The AWANE Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a benefit for Subscribers and their dependents through the AWANE Insurance Trust Program.


The primary function of the AWANE Employee Assistance Program is to assist those who need help in resolving issues that affect their work performance and/or personal lives.  The EAP specialist will refer you to the appropriate professional resources to assist you.  The program is voluntary as well as confidential; and, you are under no obligation to pursue its recommendations if you do not wish to do so.

The AWANE Employee Assistance Program is a reasonable place to start with problems that are overtaking your life to any degree.  A trust is based on confidentiality; and, unless the participant signs a release of information, no information may be disclosed.


Some of the major problem areas with which the Employee Assistance Program can help are:

  • Family problems
  • Alcohol related problems
  • Other drug use, abuse & addiction
  • Emotional problems / Mental health
  • Marital problems
  • Financial problems



While the AWANE Insurance Trust Medical Programs cover part or all of the costs associated with the Employee Assistance Program, we should remember that there is always an investment in obtaining help with a problem – one that is worthwhile if it enables resolution of the problem.

The AWANE EAP specialist will keep in mind the seriousness of the problem and your ability to pay when making referrals for assistance.
